VirginBet.com joins the International Betting Integrity Association

The International Betting Integrity Association has announced the signing of an agreement that has seen the recently-launched VirginBet.com sportsbetting domain from British iGaming operator Gamesys Limited become its latest member.

Inflating roster:

Previously known as the European Sports Security Association (ESSA), the International Betting Integrity Association used an official Wednesday press release to detail that the deal means almost 50 iGaming brands will now participate in its efforts at ensuring the integrity of online sportsbetting.

Diligent observation:

The Brussels-based organization is responsible for running a bespoke detection and notification system that has been designed to spot suspicious sportsbetting activities and it additionally stated that VirginBet.com’s addition will broaden its ‘monitoring and alert platform’ while reinforcing its status as ‘the leading player in its field.’

Integrity investment:

Khalid Ali, Secretary General for the International Betting Integrity Association, used the press release (pdf) to describe the Virgin brand as ‘one of the most recognized in the world’ in advance of declaring that he was ‘delighted’ that the new online sportsbook had committed ‘to investing in the integrity of its product and sporting events.’

“I can’t stress enough how important it is for operators to engage collectively on this issue from both a corporate responsibility and business perspective.”

Anti-corruption commitment:

For its part, London-headquartered Gamesys Limited, launched VirginBet.com earlier this month with the mobile-friendly site utilizing a platform from SBTech in order to offer a vast range of markets covering sporting events taking place around the world. The firm’s Marketing Director, Simon Mizzi, proclaimed that iGaming regulators across the globe are stepping up their focus on integrity because ‘betting-related corruption in sport represents a serious risk to all operators’.
